// Founder - Alex Wang //
Singer/ songwriter, author and teacher, Alex Wang started exousia-productions with a vision to use the arts as a motivational tool for teenagers in Singapore and around the world.
Hailing from humble beginnings, Alex's dream of becoming a singer/ songwriter began when he turned 15. With no formal music training, he nevertheless went ahead with his dream, relying on the grace of God and his natural music instincts to guide him.
In 2003, after 10 years of songwriting, Alex released his debut English album "Someday" under an independent label. Raw and intimate, "Someday" featured one of his most enduring songs "Change the World".
2005 saw the release of his second English album "Veritas". Notable variations in the music came in the form of electronica-dance numbers like "Absolutely" and "Second Guessing {Myself}".
That same year, Alex's "Wings" entered the top 10 position in the "Our Story, Our Chords, Our Song" National Day Songwriting competition in Singapore.
While teaching Geography and English in 2006 at a local secondary school, Alex was moved by the many challanges his students faced in their lives, and wrote "Believe", a musical about the lives of mainstream teenagers, for his students to perform in, with the hope that through the process, they will find hope, affirmation and confidence.
"Believe" was an instant hit, selling out 4 shows in April 2007 and 2 more in September that year at the Esplanade Recital Studio. Audiences quickly resonated with the many issues presented in the musical as well as the songs that were both fun and touching.
"No Explanation", Alex's latest release was accompanied by a series of two concerts at the Esplanade Recital Studio over the first weekend of 2010. Energetic yet personable, the concert was a roaring success as Alex performed hits from his repertoire as well as songs from "Believe".
With exousia-productions, Alex hopes to bring the transforming power of arts and music to the youths and young at heart.
